Auto Biography of Jason Anthony Watson
Family
My name is Jason Anthony Watson, and I was born in Badkreuznach, Germany on April 21st, 1983 to My parents Donna Marie Hugh and Charles L Watson Jr. I have four siblings. From Eldest, Dewayne Hugh, Ronell Hugh, Jerome Watson (Twin), and my little sister Tanika Watson. As dis-functional as my family sometimes is I love them very much.Travel I lived in Germany for 2 years. 1983-1985, after which time I moved to Knightdale, North Carolina. We lived there for about 4 or 5 years. We then moved to Coventry, England where my Grandmother, Silvia Palmer, Lives. We lived with her for a while then we got kicked out so we had to find somewhere else to live. We lived in shelter after shelter until we finally moved into a new house. During the leap frog from shelter to shelter, I remember going to at least two or three different schools. Never staying long enough to make friends. It was all worth it once we were all able to settle down in our new home.
Finding Religion
While living in our new house missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint came by. The Elders (male missionaries) were the first to come by and tell us about the LDS or Mormon church. They taught us the discussions but then were transferred before they could finish. The next ones to come by were the sister missionaries. We, except my little sister, Tanika, were baptized in the church. My sister was 7 at the time and the minimum age for baptism is 8. My sister was baptized a year later. We have been members of the LDS church since 1993. In 1995, I moved from Coventry, England to Knightdale, NC and started Middle school at East Wake Middle School.
School
When I moved to NC I started school in the 7th grade. I had a really strong British accent. Everyone made fun of my accent. How I pronounce words, how I dressed, The way I did things. It got to the point where we were being bullied throughout middle school and even into high school. I remember one day this kids was bullying me and my twin so we both beat his ass. it was funny at the time but when school was over and we were walking towards the street from school that kids older brother, probably in high school was there waiting for me and my brother. Needless to say he beat our asses. LOL. now that i look back, we knew nothing about fighting. I think my dad knew this so he started teaching us how to defend ourselves. Boxing and Tae-kwon-do. My dad was a black belt or I guess still is a Black belt. We never go to the point where we progressed to black belt but we at least got to a point where we could at least defend ourselves.
In High School, East Wake High School, We continued being bullied by kids. At this point it was getting ridiculous, so i started listening to a lot of hip hop/R&B so that I could try and get rid of my accent so kids wouldn't pick on me anymore. I worked on it for a long time and finally, for the most part got rid of my accent. Then people found other things to pick on me about. The way I dressed, things i'd say, pretty much anything they could find. If an article of clothing wasn't name brand they'd make fun of me. Sometimes they didn't even have a reason they'd just make fun of me or beat me up. It was so bad that even they kids that were also being bullied and picked on were bullying and picking on me. Now that's bad. I finally got through it all and Graduated High School.
Eagle Scout
When I first to NC, The Bishop in my church wanted me and my brother to start scout. we started at about 14ish. Which meant we would have 4 years to complete all the requirements to get eagle. all the merit badges, etc. We would go on a lot of camping trips. hiking, rock climbing, etc. We used to always get into trouble when we'd go to scout camp. Me, my twin and the Bishops son, Dustin Simmons. We were like the three musketeers or three Stooges. We would set things on fire, tease people in the camp, fellow campers, mischievous stuff. Nine times out of 10 we ended up in the bishops office after scout camp. releasing boats from docks, etc. We were always up to no good. We were teenage boys, what else did you expect. Then we graduated HS and things kinda changed. Me and my Twin, Jerome, went on our missions in 2003.
LDS Missions
I went to Rio De Janeiro North Mission, Brazil and he went to Salvador South mission, Brazil. His mission was right about mine. We left February 5th, 2003 which was later than we were supposed to leave (January 29th) due to visa issues. We reported to the MTC in Sao Paulo, Brazil and were there for 2 or so months before they threw us in the field to defend for ourselves. I had some of the best companions. People who i still this day have contact with.
Even though my mission was called the Rio De Janeiro North mission, I only stayed in a state called espirito Santo which is one state north of Rio De Janeiro. My mission included the Northern part of Rio and the entire state of ES (Espirito Santo). I spend two years serving an LDS mission and learned a lot about the people, country and myself while i was there.
There were really hard times while i was over there, missing my family and friends, language difficulties, etc but i pushed through it and did ok, I think.
Then I returned home in 2005 and started life. I moved to the west coast and worked in California for a few summers and then attended school at Utah Valley University. I then entered the Police Academy. While in the police academy, I met my ex wife, Katy and soon after got married. soon after we had our first child, Keegan Jay Watson (12/29/2008), but there were complications. When Keegan was born her was born with Non-Immunol Hydrops which means his body wasn't releasing any liquids so he was swollen or had mass edema. From the second they took him out the doctor noticed he had bruising around his kidney area. They rushed him to Primary Children s Hospital in Murray where he stayed. They kept him on life support the entire time. He stayed in the hospital for a total of five days. During which time they were trying to find out what was wrong with him. Eventually they did a cat scan of his brain. Throughout the five days Doctors found determined that the edema had damaged to all of his major organs, heart, kidney, lungs, etc... when they did the cat scan they also found that it had cause hemorrhaging in his brain that had now formed clots.
The Doctors took me and Katy to a side room and explained that everything that could be done for Keegan, had been done and that the best thing to do now was to hold him while he passed away. So thats what we did.

After Math Of Grieving
Our son was born December 29th, 2008, passed away and was buried January 3rd, 2009. He was laid to rest in Bountiful up near the LDS Bountiful Temple.
The next 3 years would be the hardest years of my life. So many things happened in such a short space of time. We moved to Davis County from Utah county, had Keegan, lost Keegan, and I started a fairly stressful new job. When Keegan passed away I was 9 days short of starting my job as a police officer. Katy wanted me home as a means of comforting her in her grief, but i couldn't be there for her because i still had to provide for us, which was why i agreed to us moving in with her parents. They could be there for her instead. It didn't really got he way I wanted it to go. The biggest life lesson ive learned is that men and women are DIFFERENT in all respects. Women need affection as a means of getting comfort. men just stay busy as a means of moving on. Which was exactly what i did. I worked 9 hr shifts then i worked on the house we bought in Kaysville. I would get up early in the morning and work on the house until i went on duty in Layton, UT.
Katy began to react to the grief by physical violence towards me because i was always around her. I suggested she go get counseling, talk to a bishop or anyone else she could confide in but she wouldn't listen. We went to couples counseling but nothing changed. then we had our daughter Kya Jayne Watson (02/10/2010), and I figured it would help her move on but nothing changed and it got to the point where she was threatening my and her life with physical violence. So I had to act. I was the head of the house, the security, protector, It was my responsibility to act. I tried get her families help, friends, family friends in the LDS ward, even bishops, but nothing seemed to help and her violence towards me continued. I got laid off from my job as a Layton Police officer for my inability to focus on the just because of distraction. Katy would call and text me nonstop while i was on duty and thats dangerous for me, fellow officers and citizens we were trying to protect, and it became harder and harder to concentrate at work. I will admit I loved my job as an officer but i couldnt handle the pressure of katy's grief and the pressure and stress of my job. About 6-8 months later i had Eventually had enough, I called the police and reported a domestic violence incident. I did it for a couple of reasons, 1) to teach Katy accountability, 2) because i knew the court would require her to go to grief counseling which was what id been suggesting to her all along. and 3) i didnt want my daughter to grow up in that environment.
